AJAX-Tips3rd Part Softwares in iPhones
I was really beginning to think that Apple is another greedy corporation that wants to take over the world. When the company released iPhone, the world of developers was really excited with this development since iPhone runs in Ajax.
Basically iPhones represents what will be the next big thing in the mobile world. Hackers from everywhere tried all they can to make some changes in the iPhone. Apple apparently is not every happy with this development as they release a series of firmware updates. If your iPhone was manually changed from the inside since you wanted to add another cool program, it could experience problems or worst will not work at all.
However, iPhone slowly gave things up starting with allowing 3rd party softwares; Ajax-based or not, to run. These programs though could not be installed in iPhone but instead it will be run online. All the third party software should only be run using their Safari browser, other than that, it’s already a no-no. Developers adjusted and there are actually software suites that run in their browser.
Although these programs are really good, it still needs a good internet connection to make them work. Judging from the recent news of internet bills piling, an offline alternative is still a must. The clamor maybe unbearable for Apple as everyone wanted to have more in their iPhone.
We know of its cool interface but there are still things that you can add to this gadget and never compromise any of its hardware and software properties. Maybe Apple just wanted to be selfish a little bit and force their software to users worldwide. With regards to their web based softwares, they even released a list of things that you can use in their site. That concept may work for some but definitely not for everyone.
But good things are coming next year. Apple has agreed to work with 3rd party developers to create native softwares. As of this writing, the company is patching up their security measures with various developers. The company has estimated that the release of 3rd party software will be February 2008.
Most definitely, Apple will be working on native softwares that will definitely run in Ajax. When you have all that power packed in a small gadget, it’s a shame Apple will settle less than Ajax based software.
Apparently, Apple will be using the same framework that Nokia does to their 3rd party softwares. In order to protect their phones and their users from bad softwares, they are implementing digital signatures to track who are creators of the program.
Steve Jobs, issued a statement regarding this update. “While this makes such a phone less than 'totally open, we believe it is a step in the right direction. We are working on an advanced system, which will offer developers broad access to natively program the iPhone's amazing software platform while at the same time protecting users from malicious programs.” And Ajax will definitely be there. Let’s just wait until February and see what cool stuffs will be available for iPhone.
