A new deal to come on enterprise resource planning software for SAP and Hitachi

SAP has announced that has signed a deal with Tokyo, Japan based electronics giant Hitachi. This deal stipulated that SAP AG will be the resource planning (ERP) and software and technologies enabling enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) provider for Hitachi. The announcement was being made in the run-up to the Japanese SAP customer conference SAPPHIRE 2007 Miyazaki, being held in Miyazaki, Japan, October 28 - 31. This deal will definitely help Hitachi in accelerating the deployment of its end-to-end business solutions as it leverages on the power and sophistication of the SAP ERP solution. What this means for SAP is an added credibility to is already impressive portfolio. The giant electronics manufacturer is the first company to very sign such as strategic partnership with SAP. The deal is actually done by SAP and Hitachi Consulting whose parent company, the Hitachi, Ltd., has already had several years of experience with SAP and its global resellers. Hitachi Ltd. Has maintained as one of SAP's largest consulting groups in Asia. SAP will have a close cooperation with Hitachi, Ltd. Information Systems Division and Hitachi Information Technology, Ltd., Hitachi’s leading provider of business system integration and operation services, so that they can achieve the commonly agreed global goals. Hitachi has reported that it has sales in 2006 that reached up to more than $87 billion and looks forward in this deal with having the first enterprise SOA customer in Japan for bigger things with SAP as they continue building a momentum in the markets outside of Europe and the United States. During this quarter, the Asia-Pacific region only accounts for around 13 percent of the 2.4 billion euros in sales it recorded in the third quarter, compared to 50 percent and 37 percent, respectively in Europe and North America. Hitachi has began its collaboration with SAP with the development and testing of SAP products and management techniques in 1997. In the year 2004, Hitachi Consulting was recognized by SAP as a preferred mid-market services provider. Aside from that, SAP also selected Hitachi Consulting as one of the initial certified partners for deploying mySAP.com and has then, the two companies has had many successful projects such as Accelerated SAP which have already help countless other companies in being to successfully implement valuable information resources, improving supply chain efficiencies and building stronger customer relationships. "Our global enterprise agreement with Hitachi is another strong example of a strategic customer standardizing their business software applications on SAP. This expansion of our relationship illustrates the business value of our high tech solutions and proven enterprise service-oriented architecture roadmap—and how ultimately both will support their global IT strategy," Holger Fritzinger, acting head of SAP's Industry Business Unit, High Tech, said Just during the second week of this month, SAP has narrowly topped analyst profit estimates for its third quarter and has gained around $579 million on sales of more than $3.44 billion.
