AJAX-TipsAjax Based Synthasite Gets $5 Million
When the term Ajax was coined in 2005, it has swept the world of internet technology that everyone is scrambling to create, support and to invest in this technology. Although there are still skeptics about the actual performance of Ajax, the support for this language is overwhelming. Everywhere you look most of the programming languages, platforms, toolkits for web development and softwares are all geared to be Ajax compliant or revamped to be Ajax based. Most of the software or web based companies are now capable or transformed to be capable to work with Ajax. Even though there are reports that Ajax could have some flaws, the support is always reassuring. Take for example Synthasite, this South African based company offers free website creation. Even though users of their website don’t have any experience or knowledge in different programming language, Synthasite will assist them in designing their own website based on their preferences. As of this writing, Synthasite has now more than 10,000 active users. Synthasite is still a small company looking for some investors. Recently, the company was happy to announce that they have sign a deal with an investor worth $5 million. Columbus Venture Capital a subsidiary of Compagnie Financière Richemont will be supporting Synthasite financially for at least $5 Million. Synthasite uses Ajax so that it could assist their users to design their website. Ajax will enable website creators to design using the available formats. Users will be able to drag and drop tools to the available platform. That’s just the first phase of their technology. Aside from creating Ajax based websites, developers will also have the chance to use the available API that should be offered early next year. Next year, developers will be able to create widgets based on the tools offered by Synthasite. These widgets could be implemented in their website or in Synthasite created websites. With this funding, Synthasite is confident it could be successful in this project. Vinny Lingham one of the founders of Synthasite released this statement regarding the funding, “We are thrilled with this investment in our business as it vindicates the tremendous effort and vision that we have applied. My team can now focus on adequately resourcing the Company and accelerating growth, something which has been difficult until now. Columbus is a strategic partner who has strong shared values, complementary areas of expertise and will provide unique business development opportunities.” The Executive Chairman of Richemont, Johann Rupert is confident of the company’s ability to deliver especially with Vinny Lingham, “During the early stages of our discussions with Synthasite we recognized the ease of use, scalability and earnings potential of their platform. Our involvement should provide Synthasite with the necessary support to further develop the business to an appropriate critical mass. I look forward to working with Vinny. He is a dynamic young South African entrepreneur whose business we can help to export and globalize.” Part of the company’s plan of development is moving some of their facilities from Cape Town, South Africa to California. Companies like this certainly prove that Ajax is a major tool that can draw big companies to investment and development. Just think of the opportunities for web developers because of Ajax.
