Ajax Based Websites

There are sites that we often use everyday that feature Ajax. Some are used for business, some for information while others are used for pure fun. So we raked the internet and tried to collect five sites that feature Ajax as their platform. There’s a common concept among programmers that Ajax tends to be too flashy, but it’s up to you how flash could the really get. Even though there are fears that Ajax may be too vulnerable to hacks, these sites have boldly put their faith on this program. So here are the sites that have this program be sure to enjoy them one by one.

  1. Yoink’d – If you think the internet has too much video sharing websites, think again. Yoink’d brings a fresh look on how video sharing websites are executed. Their front page may not be as flashy as you expect (gray background?) but you can still make some changes with the skins available also in the front page. The best part of the site is located right in the center of Yoink’d – it’s a virtual play list that looks like the interface of an iPhone. Just click on your play list and depending on your internet speed, will load your music and videos.
  2. 64Pola – still on beta version, but 64Pola is a polish website that lets its users play a game of chess. Before you start playing the game, the site will asses your internet speed, pop-up blocker and other things that needs to be configured properly before it can be launched. It also explains how Ajax works in general and in their website. Great for those who wanted to play chess and learn Ajax at the same time. Now if we could find someone who wants to do that.
  3. A9.com – this is a search website launched by Amazon.com. Once launched, this website will show you two results based on your preferences. You can have the regular search results and on the other panels are books with the subject you’re looking for. You can even add one more panels for news related to your search. You can also change the size of your pane. If you ask me, the site may not be as friendly as I though it is but it’s a good way to explore the panels.
  4. Panic.com – no, this website is not about horror things. This website instead sells t-shirts. This website is really interactive in terms of shopping things. Their website comes with a shopping cart located in the bottom of the window. Instead of click on the t-shirts you like, you can drag the shirts on the cart located below the site. You can drag the t-shirt outside the cart if you change your mind.
  5. Justfutoncovers.com – This website sells fully customized futon covers. You can click on the color and the size that you prefer. Instead of waiting for the page to reload, the site will just load complete with the price of the product that you want. Click “add to cart” and only the upper right side of the site will refresh. One of the best sites to feature online shopping.
