Ajax Challenges for Developers

d="filecontent">

Developers often see Ajax as a very challenging language. First of all, Ajax itself is not a language but a collection of languages tweaked to create powerful and highly useful websites and programs.

You have to be more than familiar with JavaScript and XML. Without Ajax, you can easy use an HTML and activate Java or other pre-installed softwares required such as flash but it will require you reload the webpage all over again. Flash may do the trick but it could not be as interactive or as effective such as handling documents and giving more security. Although I think its quiet unfortunate, Flash has even become a platform only for games and simple menus. But that’s just part of the challenges that starting developers will face when they will deal with Ajax. Unfortunately Ajax has to be recreated again if it could be implemented in IE. Fortunately for Mozilla Firefox, the driving force in any Ajax based program is JavaScript. This coding language is basically the heart of Ajax and uses only one code: XmlHttpRequest. This code triggers JavaScript in the web browser and they are very ideal in Mozillla. But because almost 80% of the internet users use IE, developers still have to engage in ActiveXobject to trigger the Ajax based program in IE browser. This is another challenge for developers. Although some used a very simple trick in adding functions, Ajax based programs on the web are always complicated that it needs more than a simple code that it should be running in IE. From the challenge of programming, developers especially when they are interested in running in IE have to deal with security a lot. ActiveXobject unfortunately is notoriously famous because of the malwares, viruses and other hacks that have come from this tool. If the users are serious enough to deal with this program, they have to convince themselves first that this tool is secured. If you’re a start-up program you’ll have a lot of problem convincing people to use your program especially those that has more than enough familiarity with the internet. Last but not the least of the challenges in the program is the attacks that could be administered to the Ajax based program. You have to be really prepared to create a good Ajax based program that is also security intensive. You have to remember that even the best of the Ajax creators have been logged for the program. Google’s Gmail have been registered to have security leaks by an independent group. Although Google has addressed that problem, it shows that a problem will crop up if you’re not careful enough. The mobile world though has taken strides in taking in Ajax but that’s another concern you have to deal with if you’re planning to work in mobile Ajax business. But in all these, the rewards are great since the talent is very rare. If you could effectively answer these concerns and challenges effectively, you’re on your way to be a good and successful developer because of your Ajax effectiveness.
