AJAX-TipsAjax Powered Lookout Software Acquires RSSCalendar
The creator of the renowned Microsoft add-on program, the Lookout Software, has announced their acquisition of RSSCalenendar. Lookout Software has created a powerful calendar sharing program aimed for SMEs. This calendar sharing program is geared to serve business that doesn’t have enough budget to spend more money in their own exchange server for maintaining their e-mail. This program works like Wikipedia, only local and in real time. This functionality was made possible because of the company’s efficient use of Ajax. RSSCalendar on the other hand already an established software that’s being used worldwide. In the time of it’s acquisition, the RSSCalendar already has 25,000 users. This free software is also logging more than a million events. Because it’s free, anyone could practically use the program and create more events and share them with everyone. Using a simple RSS feed, everyone subscribing to a specific person (or calendar in this case) they may be able to monitor the activity of a certain user with the use of the calendar It’s a free event updater everyone could subscribe. With a free service, they were able to attract more than 27 million hits in one month. With this acquisition, Lookout Software will now give better and stronger service to all who uses this program. Lookout Software is obviously planning to integrate their present Ajax based program with RSS. As Ajax could give users a real time exchange of information, the addition of RSS will give users, zero-in or focus on a certain user rather than logging in and select a specific task at hand. RSS could give users the ability to subscribe to one person rather than getting more than what’s needed from multiple users. Although the RSSCalendar service was originally created to service users or consumers only, the integration of Lookout Software will change the face of RSSCalendar as they start focusing more on business solutions. RSSCalendar is more than happy with this development. The founder of RSSCalendar John Pacchetti, expressed his thoughts on this acquisition, “I believe the recent acquisition of RSSCalendar will enhance the capabilities of Lookout Software's OfficeCalendar products and increase the company's enterprise client base. Our vision for RSSCalendar has always been to create user-friendly software so individuals, groups, and companies can share their calendars in a seamless way. We can't think of a better platform to fulfill this vision than with Lookout Software.” On the other hand, Lookout Software is also confident on the role RSSCalendar to update their service and attract more clients. “The acquisition of RSSCalendar adds a strong component to our growing portfolio of office productivity and collaboration software solutions. As we expand RSSCalendar's capabilities, we will be able to offer something new and exciting to our over 7,000 customers, as well as draw in new organizations and businesses who want an easy and affordable way to manage event-based content on their websites.” Said the president of Lookout Software, Kavin Taggart. Lookout Software is also planning to add more services based on the addition of RSSCalendar. Users of both services have to wait a little while before changes are slowly implemented.
