AJAX-Tools Tutorials
AJAX-ToolsAjax Push Engine
Pushing for a streamlined method in communication is not an easy task for developers or in the world of telecommunications. Even telecommunication companies have a very hard time keeping up with the demands of users although some just want to make some phone calls.
Online, users demand for faster access of information or improved communication between source and client side. For that reason, JavaScript has become a powerful tool for developers as this will allow them to stream the data from the server without refreshing the webpage.
But APE or Ajax Push Engine wants to get the clutters out of Ajax and JavaScript to improve communication. This program started in 2006 and was dubbed as ACE or Ajax Chat Engine.
As the name suggests, the application will allow users to chat in the browser with the help of Ajax. But using Ajax to simply chat is not necessarily a strong feature for the programming technique. Ajax can certainly be used for more than just simply text communication. For that reason APE was created for improved and additional user interaction.
The Push for Data Streaming
In gist, APE is simply an Ajax based framework that allows developers to push their data faster. With this framework, developers will enable their websites to stream data faster to more users without experiencing any lag. As already indicated, it's a clutter-free framework whose aim is to simply stream the information to their users.
But the beauty of APE is not just based on simple Ajax. APE is created and can be implemented by using Comet or server-side JavaScript. This requirement actually makes sense when you're thinking of pushing the data faster. Rather than relying on internet connectivity and gadget capability, APE uses Comet for faster communication through optimized servers.
The Center of it All: APE Server
But developers who expect the standard push from Comet will be surprised that APE has provided a few tweaks in the application. The APE Server is a tool that will optimize the settings of the server to easily stream information. This is a lightweight web server because it uses HTTP.
Complementing the APE Server are the two parts where developers will build their application. The APE Protocol is the area for developers to build the connection and communication policy for its users.
While it is good that everyone will have an optimized communication, there are still limitations that should be implemented. APE JavaScript Framework, as the name suggests, allows developers to easily create the interface without using too much JavaScript coding.
Standardized and Updated
APE was recently updated to make the framework more developer friendly. Aside from XML, developers will not have the option of using JSON if they want to implement a JavaScript specific application. JSON is highly recommended because developers will be able to take advantage of other tools in the application.
APE is certainly one of the smartest tools for easy communication. It will certainly take its toll on a weak server but can provide something very useful for developers in business setting.
