Ajax: The future for Mobile Technology

The release of the iPhone in recent months and the release of it’s baby, the iPhone without a phone, crazed apple fans and even non-believers of Apple. Here we have something that’s really powerful compared to other available phones. Even though there are phones that could match the technology, the beauty and the innovation it provides to the recent generation of mobile technology is, without a doubt, a steal. That reaction is not just for the consumers but for developers as well. Even as we speak, someone somewhere is already developing a hack or a modification tool that will enable it’s users to install other programs that they like. If you have any experience in modifying cellphones, this would be a breeze. However, there were also curious developers who asked Apple what would be the next generation of platform for the new program that will run on their phones. Apple timidly answered, “Ajax is the development platform”. What? That’s it? If I were to ask Adobe to describe their development toolkit for Ajax, not only they will answer Spry but they will present me more than I could write in this page. They will provide you with detailed explanation about the tool, why it’s better and what are the things that you can do. If you just let the developers talk about their programs, I’m sure it’s going to be more than a paragraph. But come to think of it, Apple has something in mind that we don’t know yet. It’s a prophecy that’s coming we can almost feel it. We already have seen the power of Ajax on our computers and we can’t seem to get enough out of it. With Ajax, we experienced better interaction with our computer. Ajax tries to predict our thinking and of course it will reduce the need to have a higher internet connection since the power will be PC based. That notion is perfect for the mobile technology since it will eliminate the need of having a stronger internet connection. I may sound ambitious but mobile phones can even use the analog signals (those connections before 3G) to connect to the internet and use Ajax. The problem comes however, on the hardware requirements. If we have the ease of connecting to Ajax programs, it will pass the responsibility on the hardware it requires. Right now the decent computer could run in 1Ghz of speed. You can browse, watch videos and download online. However, if you only have 1Ghz of speed in your computer and you want to run Ajax programs, think again. A computer that could run a good Ajax program without any hassle has to have 3Ghz of speed. The fastest phone on the market right now is only 400mhz. That means Ajax could still be a dream for now. But it could no longer be like that one day. Remember the simple answer of Apple regarding Ajax. They may be talking about their computers but their mobile phone might follow suit as well. When that day comes, line up in Apple stores to get a faster and stronger technology of mobile entertainment and communication.
