AJAX-TipsAjax at it’s Best
If y
ou’ve been reading a lot of news about the software development Ajax, then you should have seen terms like XML, JSON, JAVA with confusing terms like asynchronous, firmware or platform. You might have though, “so what?” as you don’t know why there’s a lot of fuss regarding this technology.
Actually Ajax is already part of our life. Google services are mostly Ajax based and more are coming up. But to give you even a more powerful display of Ajax, here are some of the Ajax programs in the internet that you’ll be able to use right now. They are all free and could make a different in your internet experience.
www.pageflakes.com
– this is purely an Ajax based website and calls itself a toll for “pagecasting”. Pagecasting is new term of real time broadcasting to views of the web page. Instead of using your voice to get some information across to your subscribers, you get the message across by watching at your webpage in real time. Anything that you do you to your website will be update to your friends in real time as well. When you create an account, you’ll be presented with a number of “flakes” or mini websites to compile. You can just publish it and your friends can take a look a what you’re reading. The main difference in my yahoo page is that it’s not an HTML but a Ajax interactive website.
YouOS.com – definitely my favorite. This online program may not load in record time but when it does, it will definitely shatter your online experience. Developed by Webshaka, this program will let you have your very own online desktop (called the webtops). Just like a personal computer, you can upload your files, music and use the applications just like in your regular computer. Here are some of my favorite programs inside the YouOS.com application:
YouNES – play classic 8bit games using NES emulator
WhereWolf – your very own browser within a browser
YouEditor – Create document files with these
As of this writing there are more than 700 applications to choose from. All of the settings are saved until you log in the next time.
Groovy.com – much like youOS. But instead of choosing the things to be upload in your webtop, you can work your way from the other end – remove the programs that you don’t like and live with the rest. It even has a better feel compared to YouOS.com but its big difference is the loading time. This could take forever! I tried running it to my desktop I was stuck for five minutes before I see one. Best thing about this are the games.
These are just some of the sites that you can experience the full extent of Ajax. The list could go on and on but these sites could be more than enough to convince you the power of Ajax. Watch out as these types of programs will slowly run the internet world because of the things that you can do…all of them for free.
