Ajax from the Point of View of Users

Ajax has become a by word for web professionals who wanted to create a very interactive web program. Combining the powers of the XML, HTTP and JavaScript, the Ajax program was born and has taken the world by storm. Various developers scramble to create websites dedicated to these programs and try out their skills to run these softwares in the hope to be one of the first people to express their interest of this technique.

Even big internet companies have acknowledged the importance of this technique. Maybe it’s just hype but we have got to trust the names that are backing up this program. Google has already earned billions using this web technique. Adobe is getting some leverage with Microsoft because of their ability to create a string of programs that’s not only helpful to developers but users at the same time.

IBM has led various companies in creating OpenAjax Alliance to address the growing concerns of this program. There are now various toolkits that programmers can use in order to create this Ajax based program. Such development is acknowledged worldwide. But along the lines of development, usage and the ability to show the prowess of the power of Ajax, something definitely went wrong.

We do not discount the fact that Ajax is a very strong program not only for its flashy features but its ability to interact with the customers better, but there are web based programs out there that doesn’t seem to tell how powerful this Ajax really is.

The result is a disaster in program not only in the eyes but in the functionality as well. But there are those that brags about their Ajax based program but once you tried to run them in your browser, either you’ll get confused or won’t get what you hope to see in their website.

If you’re a developer, read this carefully. Before you release an Ajax based website, be sure to it up with a lot of talk and even more action in the website. But never forget to run the program for more than a thousand times before you can say it really looks good. As a user, here are some things that any Ajax developer should consider before launching a website.

  1. Get the drop-down list work better. As Ajax based websites doesn’t need any clicks, we naturally just hover over the menu. If a click is required what could happen in some websites are the drop down menu doesn’t show up where it’s supposed to be. It could either be in left or right of the target load area.
    .
  2. To many menu or buttons. We know that Ajax is a good thing when it comes to programming but that doesn’t mean that you have to show everything Ajax can do in one website. Think also of your visitors who just want to know something in your website.

These are only two of the things that I can point out for now. You have to remember that a program, even though how cool it is, has to serve its purpose to assist the customer in getting their information quickly.
