When iPhone was released this year, people immediately wanted to do something really cool with their iPhones. In less than a week, you can see some sites detailing how you can make some changes in your iPhone. Even though the things that we see in our iPhones are really cool, we always wish that something could be added easily. As this program runs in Ajax, nothing less than the flashiest softwares could actually be run on this phone added to the fact that Ajax will be able to use less bandwidth; internet connection is virtually no problem for various iPhone users to access some features using Ajax. The problem though is that iPhone has clipped further development of iPhone. The company didn’t allow any native installation for their iPhone. That means installation to your iPhone is absolutely not allowed. Even though there are hackers who were able to implement their own software in iPhone, it was easily shot down because of the firmware updates. Most of the updates of Apple to their iPhones either rendered hacked phones virtually useless. Either they can’t use the internet or the phone part of the phone or they can’t use anything at all. Unfortunately Apple some gave its users some leeway regarding non-native installations. But instead of allowing programs to be installed, Apple has allowed Ajax based programs to their phones however, it’s only limited to web based programs. It’s basically running a program through their Safari browser. In the end, nothing happened. However, there are companies who worked through this compromised and released Ajax based softwares that could run not only in iPhones but on other mobile phones at the same time. But still, people are still waiting for the next big thing about Ajax in mobile technology especially in iPhones. Apple is certainly feeling the pressure in allowing softwares to be implemented in their phones. There are more than a million iPhones in US alone and there are people who have done more than simple calling in their phones. Even though there are people who stick to the configuration of their phone, almost everyone wishes there could be something more. But there’s a recent buzz that’s been going on for some days. A rumor has spread like wildfire not only for the developers but in popular news as well. Apple is reportedly making some changes in their firmware to allow third party installations. Don’t get your hopes up though, Apple will still clip this third party updates somehow. The latest buzz is, Apple will try to emulate Google gears on how do they implement the softwares. If I’m not mistaken, iPhone users who wanted to have a third party software implemented their program has to download a specific software from Apple. The developers on the other hand will just have to deposit codes in iPhones. Using Ajax, these programs should be able to run smoothly as ever. The question is on when will Apple officially announce this update? We don’t know this yet but if you’re a developer, you might as well start cranking up your software development engines.
