FrameworksCappuccino 0.6 Framework
The frameworks that you will find today are usually the “surviving frameworks”. Eventually after Ajax was first offered, hundreds of frameworks became available online. Each of these frameworks is vying to be something big because of the apparent niche offered by Ajax.
But just like most competitions, there are winners and losers. The winners go on to become a powerful framework with developers actively working on the Ajax tool. Those that are unfortunate to gain support and acknowledgement are just left hanging without any update in mind.
But that does not mean that new frameworks are never released. There are still a few frameworks that are being released from time to time.
The volume of new frameworks have certainly reduced and the good thing about the new frameworks today is that they have learned so much about the failed frameworks that they have avoided those problems and launch themselves with ease today.
One of those frameworks that have clearly learned the mistakes of the past is Cappuccino. Now on version 0.6, it is becoming a small but recognizable framework.
Of course, it presents itself a smart solution for developers who are having trouble in building an Ajax based application. HTML, CSS, DOM and other complicated components could be easily handled by Cappuccino.
Blend of Everything
But that doesn’t mean Cappuccino 0.6 will be spoon feeding developers in building an Ajax based application. Cappuccino will still leave out something for developers to learn.
In this case, developers need to learn Objective-J. By now, you might think twice of learning Cappuccino. But before you leave out Cappuccino, investigate on Objective-J first. You will out that this programming language is easier that you think.
This programming language will help you develop API for JavaScript applications. Objective-J has been integrated to Cappuccino so that you can work with Objective J and slowly build an application from that point.
Application Development
Right from the start, Cappuccino doesn’t offer any apologies in the framework they have made. This framework is not for simple Ajax based websites. This framework is built to help developers build powerful applications online.
It all goes back to Objective-J. You will be able to configure your application without any problem. Since Objective-J is an API builder, you will eventually build an Ajax based application online.
Limited Browsers
Another limitation of Cappuccino the number of browsers the application would be working. As of this writing IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera are the only browsers that could read the application developed by Cappuccino.
Unfortunately, specialized browsers will never be able to read the applications of Cappuccino. The reason for this limitation is based on the fact that the developers of Cappuccino have to rely on standards before anything else.
But this limitation has a good tradeoff. There is actually functionality in Cappuccino called @accessors. This functionality will help you build an efficient application since it will provide a shortcut on coding. Instead of rewriting all variables, you should be able to build to build application with single tagging.
