Enterprise Ajax 4.2 for Java Released

The term Ajax was presented to the public during 2005 when Jesse James Garrett released a report which referred to the technique that was used by Google to build Google Maps. But before the term was actually coined, there are developers around the world who are already working in this type of technique which, until today, is referred to as technique for developed Rich Internet Applications.

One of those companies is Backbase. Established in 2003, this company has focused their skills in building RIA tools for developers by developing applications that are based on HTML, JavaScript and CSS. Although they are not the pioneers of web development, they have certainly grasped the trend of web development.

When the term “Ajax” spread like wildfire in the world of web development, Backbase is one of the companies that have realized the potential of this web development technique. With their strong background in RIA, they are able to release strong Ajax based tools for web developers.

One of the strongest web development applications that was built by Backbase is the Enterprise Ajax for Java. With this tool, developers who are well versed in Java need not  learn Ajax in order to build a strong Ajax based application. This enterprise tool has basically has the functions that any developer needs for building Ajax in the fastest time possible.

Just recently, Backbase has updated this powerful web developed application. Now on its version 4.2, Enterprise Ajax for Java was updated with stronger and better applications.

Among the updates in this Ajax development tool from Backbase is the increase of awareness of different frameworks. Although not absolute, Ajax developers who prefer a popular framework in building an Ajax based application could easily use this application. Another key update on Enterprise 4.2 Ajax for Java is the ability to be aware of server side frameworks for Java. Take note that the previous version of this tool is already aware of the server-side frameworks but on this version, it has the ability to interpret multiple server side Java frameworks. That means mash-ups is now possible and development is faster because it can accept different functions from different server side frameworks.

This complements the goal of Backbase in building a web development application that offers “complete client” solution. Additional update for the new version includes JSF Edition which eases the development client side components, Struts Connector which aids in widget development and a very strong MVC Spring Framework for ease in data servicing.

Also for the first time in this version, the Enterprise Ajax 4.2 for Java is released for free for community development. The community edition is no different from the enterprise edition but the former could only be installed and used up to two computers at the same time.

Backbase’s Development Manager Dimitra Retsina released this statement with the release of the recent version of Enterprise Ajax 4.2 for Java, “With 4.2 we made another significant step to create a complete Client + Server RIA framework for the enterprise Java community. With Backbase Java Developers can quickly develop standards-based Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) with their existing skill sets.”
