Importance of HTML to Ajax

HTML has been used for websites ever since the internet came into existance. Every developer who wants to build highly interactive applications does not jump on complicated programming languages for websites. They instead start on simpler programming languages and HTML is one among them.

It can be even said that without HTML, the internet that everyone knows today will not be possible. The simplicity and lightweight design that could be learned from HTML has created simple websites but still considered interactive in its day. Even today when RIA requires more than simple HTML usage, this language for websites still creates an impact.

Ajax is no exception in recognizing the importance of HTML. Developers who wanted to build highly interactive application such as Ajax always consider in using HTML as part of their application. JavaScript could be easily paired with XML and JSON but these outputs are usually considered when the application has to work with mostly with complicated outputs.

HTML on the other hand, could be used when the application needed is simplified. But this does not mean that HTML is not geared towards highly interactive application. The advantage of HTML is that it could effectively adapt to every online programming language which means developers could easily expand their application with the use of HTML.

Default on Browser

Probably the best thing about HTML is its compatibility with almost every browser in any version. One of the first things browser developers check is the adaptability of the browser to different HTML commands. Instead of developers adapting to browsers, the browsers are making sure that HTML will be fully compatible.

The reason is actually simple: inspite of all the hype in online applications today, most of the sites are still in HTML. From blog platforms to simplified websites, almost every site a user encounters is powered by HTML. If the browser cannot support basic HTML commands, it will never be used by any user at all.

HTML 5

But HTML is not going to stay basic and will just cater to simplified websites. The development of HTML 5 is already in full implementation. This version of HTML is fully adaptable to different challenges in RIA development languages such as Ajax. This project has been on since the rise of Ajax with specific intentions on making HTML friendlier to this type of programming languages.

The compatibility of the latest version of HTML however is only on the latest browsers. This is actually not surprising considering HTML 5 is geared towards the latest programming languages. Since these programming languages are also facing some challenges on browser compatibility, HTML 5 is also facing the same struggle. But again, this problem will not be experienced if the latest versions of major browsers are used.

This just goes to show that HTML is geared towards full compatibility with the future. The legacy coding of HTML is still there but it will be integrating powerful functions. It might be a little bit older compared to other programming languages, but it will stay for a very long time.
