FrameworksJitsu: XML Based Ajax Framework
There are hundreds of focus points when it comes to the development of Ajax. There is Ajax that can be launched from Java, frameworks that works well with the latest version of ASP.NET or a framework that could run from HTML.
Now, we’ll take a look at another framework launched in a completely different perspective: XML. When we saw this particular type of framework we asked why of all the points, some developers have opted to choose XML? Clearly developers don’t just built this type of framework for the heck of it. First of all XML is a universal mark-up language where any data could be launched. Although XML is a little generic, providing no specific support to any data other than its own type, XML makes it convenient for other data to go through this language and launch forms and information conveniently right from the server. With this in mind, an XML based framework makes it really easy for information found in server to be launched asynchronously.
Jitsu was developed in 2006 and after it was launched, various developers have tried this framework and ruthlessly confessed that this framework is already one too many. If ever a developer wants to launch an Ajax based website with XML framework, lots of documents and re-education have to be done before a single code will be written. Another concern for developers is the constant requirement of compiling the codes before it could be launched and in every change possible.
On the other hand, Jitsu is a brand new concept of developing an Ajax based website. Jitsu boasts itself with these three factors:
- Designer Friendly – surprisingly, this framework is thought to be information intensive and focuses in data instead of design but this framework works great for developers who want to create a better looking website.
- Rapid Iteration – RAD programmers would find this framework suitable to their preferences. When some programmers find constant compilation a little bit annoying, constant compilation on the other hand is perfect for RAD. Every update in RAD is potential prototype so developers would have to work hard and complete the program. When you constantly compile the program you ensure that the iterated software works well.
- Open Source – the best thing about this framework is that it’s completely free: the source codes…the libraries…everything. Although support for free programs is a little bit limited, Jitsu practically has a decent support program.
An XML based framework is a unique kind of web development framework. It fosters so many things since it’s a relatively new concept. This lightweight program could easily be launched since XML could easily go through different data types easily. There are lots of things that the framework would still need to cover such as security and stability when launched in a completely unique browser. In the meantime, developers should be able to learn the framework and by the time this program is updated, they should be able to launch a simple XML based framework.
