AJAX-TipsLooking Back at the AjaxWorld Conference
The recently concluded AjaxWorld Conference has proven to be the biggest conference for Ajax. As the event unfolds, industry giants are coming out from their laboratories to bring out their latest toolkits, explain the latest updates and give a piece of their mind from the latest development of technology as a whole. There are also workshops that aim to educate participants on the latest techniques for the internet world.
For an outside, it could look like be another convention that few people understands, but these few people are working on the program that will definitely change the face of the internet in a few years time. For most of the participants, the conference may be a little bit short even though the even lasted for almost a week.
After the conference, there was even a conference conducted by the OpenAjax Alliance concerning the mobile industry but there are still questions that linger to be answered. One of the questions that came up during the AjaxWorld conference was the idea of outside the browser experience.
With the things that Ajax can do, you can almost feel that something is brewing outside the web browser. Maybe it’s going to be another web based program but it’s going to be more than just a simple browsing. It’s going to be a new experience that users will constantly use.
There’s also a question of breaking away from the standard request/response. As of now Ajax still have to do a lot of these things in order for a single program to work but the pressure has become primarily on the server side instead of sharing the burden to the users. With that in mind, industry giants are looking not only in the software side of the server but also the hardware that deals with Ajax.
It’s going to be challenge for some of the small companies but there are those who are ready to take on this challenge for the sake of the users. I remember on one of the speakers said that he is encouraging balance, but I beg to disagree. In this crazy world of giving the best to our customers, we are not going to beg them to give us a slack by purchasing more hardware and get the frustration when things won’t work in their way. Instead, we are going to develop a better technology.
With the use of Ajax, we are hoping that instead of hardware answer, the answer will only be on the software. If the internet giants will be able to give themselves a better hardware with an efficient software, that’s were the question of the Mobile Ajax answered.
Even the OpenAjax Alliance showed concerns in the mobile industry. Ajax will definitely penetrate the mobile world but how? Placing a heavy program on a small hardware is again a challenge. But as we have just indicated, it’s going to be answered by internet giants through their efficient use of the hardware and software. These questions may linger for years but it’s going to be answered in a few years time. Maybe by 2008, we could move on and see that questions that we have already addressed.
