Mainsoft Enables ASP.Net for Linux OS

ASP.Net is one of the most powerful frameworks used by developers to create a highly interactive website. Building an Ajax based website is very easy with the use of this framework as it offers a control toolkit for Ajax. With little to no knowledge of JavaScript, developers can easily build an Ajax based website and application.

This control toolkit could be used to control specific parts of the webpage. According to Mainsoft, this update and plug-in for ASP.Net did not come in cheap. The development of these tools has cost the company to a whopping $14 million. Personally, that is just too much for simple plug-ins but then again, ASP.Net for Linux has practically placed them in on a hotspot in the framework business. A very expensive business move perhaps but a strong business move nonetheless.

Aside from the plug-ins that could be added in the general interface of ASP.Net, Mainsoft has also developed additional tools integrated with the control toolkit of ASP.Net. As a path of remarkable control for an Ajax based environment, this add-on in the control toolkit is a great help for developers working in a Linux environment.

Mainsoft’s use of C# and Visual Basic is very significant because of their uses in ASP.Net. The C# in the application helps the developers build a Java enabled environment which will then be used as a background for an Ajax based application. Visual Basic on the other hand, comes in to control the code and the visuals of Java so that it could be implemented not only as JavaScript but a full featured Ajax based application.
