AJAX-TipsModels and AJAX?
Even models need their own dose of Ajax application. As our online experience gets more complicated and demanding, websites has to keep up with this demands or else, user experience will be bland. This means loss of visitors and eventually loss of revenues.
At the same time, developers are faced with the problem of connectivity. Yes, web developers can create an engaging websites at any given time however; you can’t just lace a website that requires massive bandwidth.
Even though our internet experience gets livelier with the increased capacity of downloading or engaging complicated websites in no time, there are still those that don’t have the connection speed we are all hoping for. The dilemma of content over speed is always considered.
Even if we can compromise, sometimes the beauty of the website is still sacrificed. That’s also the problem faced with a known talent staffing agency named CMT technology. However, those things changed with the launch of the newer version of the website.
CMTAgency.com is not just any other website about models and talents. The website is one of the few websites that dared to go beyond the forum talk of the capabilities of Ajax – they dared to fully implement Ajax in their web based system. Such was the feat that the website was actually featured in SYS-CON’s website.
The website was developed by Glick Entertainment Inc. and according to their CEO Tred Tanzella, ““With so many anomalies that occur in complex event planning and logistics to normal processes, we needed a framework that would allow us to modify back-end business processes without affecting front-end development. We chose CakePHP (http://cakephp.org/) due to the model view controller (MVC) architectural pattern that is inherent in the framework.
We used AJAX throughout the site, utilizing script.aculo.us libraries for user interface functions such as a light-box for clients to scroll through talent photos, dynamic tabs, drag-and-drop features to select talent and view portfolios, and AJAX-driven data grids for easy sorting and selecting throughout the site, and Flash to stream video and audio for talent reels and audio voice-overs.”
The website is not just a library of what the agency can provide to its clients. There’s also a portal for both the Models and the Clients where they can take a look at each of the account.
Models can take a look at their portfolio while clients can update their information on what they need for their various events. Shelly Justice, the CEO of CMT Agency, plainly explains the functionality and the need to develop the website, ““As clients and marketing agencies are managing more complex events for marketing campaigns, they need more advanced features and control over their event and trade show booking process.
We have provided a solution by launching a new comprehensive website that provides advanced features and controls to both our clients and talent.” This ground breaking website is sure to get the nods and disapproval of some. As of now, praises to this website as they go further and try the technology we’ve been talking about for years.
