MooBugger MooTool

Ever since MooTools was released for public use, developers everywhere were very impressed on how they would have the ability to build Ajax based applications through this tool.

At first glance MooTools looks very simple (even with slightly goofy name), but when properly executed, the result is a very impressive JavaScript application.

What even made MooTools stand when compared to other JavaScript library is the support of developers. You can say that the situation of MooTools is almost the same as JQuery but with less hype.

Although JQuery today is the most popular JavaScript library (thanks to Microsoft), Mootools was never discarded. Tools are still updated and new functionalities are added to ensure that the JavaScript application will work as planned.

MooTools Debugger

One of the few tools that recently came out of MooTools developers is the MooBugger. As the name suggests, this simple tool is aimed to assist developers build a bug free online JavaScript application.

Before MooBugger, developers will be able to build an application and later debug them with the help of firebug.

Although without question, firebug is the most popular and one of the most efficient tools, a debugger built specifically for MooTools is needed to provide efficiency. As a result, MooBugger was created.

More than a Simple Debugger

As expected, MooBugger is not your average debugging tool. If that would be the case, then the small application is just another firebug with a different name.

What makes firebug different compared to other debugging tools specifically Firebug is that developers can still use the tool even though they are not using the Mozilla browser.

That means they can use the debugger in IE, Opera and other tools that might not be able to handle Firebug.

The main reason why Firebug is limited to Mozilla is that it can only be integrated through plug-ins. Non-Mozilla browsers unfortunately, can’t be integrated with a plug-in.

So how MooBugger could be easily integrated to other browsers? Simple: through a bookmarklet. If the developers want to check their MooTools applications through a different browser, all the need to do is drag URL into the bookmarklet and launch it.

By using bookmarklet, they are pushing the application’s stability by making sure it will work not only in Mozilla but other browsers as well. With the rest of the world using IE, every developer needs to reconsider MooBugger.

Addressing Lay-out Problems

Aside from fixing bugged functions in the JavaScript application, developers should also find MooBugger helpful if they wanted to ensure that the layout is according to plan.

Making sure the layout works according to expected is a little bit challenging for most developers.

Although layout is still part of the application, it should be the first thing that should be taken cared of and going back to layout could be a lot difficult especially when debugging has already commenced.

With the assistance of MooBugger, that problem might be solved.  MooBugger gives developers the chance to improve their functionality exponentially. Hopefully, this function will be ported to manual coding of JavaScript and other libraries.
