New Ajax Wrapper for Upcoming IE8

Ajax continues to adapt to new technologies in the efforts to make the programming technique more appealing to different developers. This popular client side technique is often discussed by developers who are aiming to provide better user interaction.

Although there are concerns with security, support is available online which just shows the enthusiasm of different developers for this programming technique.

One of the functions in Ajax that continues to change is the Ajax wrapper. This type of function helps developers build an efficient application by packaging the important functions for an Ajax based application, particularly XMLHttpRequest.

By implementing an Ajax wrapper, developers are hoping that the Ajax based application would work effectively in different browsers particularly in IE.

Since the upcoming IE8 will now be compatible to XHR, another version of Ajax wrapper is coming.

But response to the new Ajax wrapper for IE8 has been mixed. Developers are always hoping that the new wrapper for IE8 will be an improvement. The new version for IE8 has been a little bit longer than in its previous counterpart. Developers would have to work double time to ensure compatibility of XHR to the new IE8 and other browser.

Although other browsers are ok with XHR, IE is known to be a little bit unfriendly in the past to XHR. Fortunately, because of different pressure from users and developers, IE has been changed so that it could accommodate XHR.

But the development of the integration has been very slow. IE6 and IE7 have different integration technique for XHR. Because of slow integration, different versions are being created which has added to the confusion.

That is why the new wrapper will be a little bit longer. Instead of changing the whole system, it is an additional feature that should be added to the present version of Ajax wrapper.

Another problem developers have to contend with when the new IE8 comes out is that the wrapper will not follow the specifications set by W3C. That will make the wrapper a little bit inconvenient for developers especially if they are building websites with mash-ups.

The mash-up is a little bit more complicated and without the help of W3C, the new version of IE8 might be able to read Ajax based websites but it might jeopardize some applications and websites that use mash-ups.

On the other hand, the new Ajax wrapper is promising. Because developers would like to improve on cross browser compatibility, the new Ajax wrapper will surely be an important function. It is not yet implemented so there is still time for improving the function for IE8.

The release date of IE8 is in a few months so developers could still find a way to shorten the code. The IE8 is currently on its beta stage and is set to be released before 2009.

For now, developers have to be contented with the new version of the Ajax wrapper. It is a little bit difficult for most developers but this should be expected because Ajax will always be challenging and change will always pose a challenge for this programming technique.
