OpenAjax Alliance for Secured and Mobile Ajax

In t

he Ajax World Conference, the alliance of the industry giants, the OpenAjax Alliance has put forward the details of the plans for the OpenAjax Hub 1.0. The operations manager of OpenAjax Alliance, Jon Ferraiolo has announced the progress of the alliance in terms of interoperability with each other.

With the help of the Hub, developers will be able to use varying toolkits and make them work as one. Before the alliance, it was virtually impossible to use all toolkits especially for the mashups. One of the key features of the 1.0 is the provision of more security in the mashups with the use of the present libraries. Mashups are considered the pinnacle of the technology and an important feature of the functionality of Ajax. In order for a simple Ajax-based program to work, it requires various programs and complex codes to work. Because of this, various tool kits are being created by various companies. Each of them has their own key features that make them good in one side and not so good in the other. The lack of complete functionality of these toolkits has forced various programmers to use various programs. The idea is really simple since each of them will work with each other. But that didn’t work at all. Maybe it was competition but before the alliance was formed, programmers have found it really hard to combine one program to another. As Ferraiolo puts describes the situation, “Sometimes, they actually prevent each other from working. They step on each other.’ With the formation of the alliance and the creation of the hub 1.0, developers will now forget about this problem and use varying toolkits. With the use of interoperability test, each toolkit is being placed under various tests as they prove themselves compatible and prevent disabling other functionality of tool kits. Mashups can now be easily realized because of the Hub 1.0. But the alliance doesn’t end there. The complexity of the mashups has created new problems. These programs will function easily but the problem comes is since it will be more susceptible to attacks. The complexity of the use of varying tools makes it easier to identify where to enter and breach security. With the release of the “white paper” in security, Ajax users and developers will not be able to get more ideas in the security of the program even with the use of the mashups. Aside from Mashups security, OpenAjax is also committed to develop not only secured mashups but also for the development of mobile Ajax applications. The world is getting smaller and smaller and the technology is also getting smaller at the same time. The development of the Ajax makes it even easier for mobile tools to go to the net with having to get a more expensive bandwidth connection. The OpenAjax Hub 1.0 is set to be released this month or in October and the Alliance is now working on the 1.1 version to be introduced early next year or before the end of 2007.
