Optimizing Ajax Using Census 2

Every developer is an expert in a subject or very familiar in a certain aspect in the development of an application. That is why you rarely see one developer credited in building highly efficient applications.

It will require a lot of people with difference expertise so that an application with great significance to be developed. From time to time we see brilliant developers who can come up with an application or a game all by himself or herself, there will most likely be a bug that can be fixed by another developer. Every developer needs another developer to succeed.

This is most especially true in building Ajax based applications. If you are building an Ajax application alone, you might find yourself emphasizing on one function more than the other. This is party because you need to have an application that works well in this function but also your expertise is focused on that function as well.

There are certain components that you are only familiar with but you can't really optimize them because you are not familiar with that certain component. In the end, you have an application that can work according to expectations but you are sure that it can be upgraded if you just knew to improve additional components.

Enter Census 2

One of the challenge is to know which component that you would actually like to improve on. An Ajax based application could have functionalities that are not performing as fast as other components. Determining them which function really works is virtually impossible.

But that could be done in Census 2 - obviously, this is an upgraded application wherein new functionalities has been introduced. This application was developed by Alex Russell, the same person who developed the original Census application.

But during that time, Census was still an application released under Adobe. This time, Alex released the application complete with different coding and newer functionality.

The key functionality of Census 2 is in its ability to pinpoint the specific component that will work well in different browsers. Through this tool, you will know the flaws of your application and eventually develop it to be something better.

But you can also look at it the other way, you will know which components of the application are now optimized. Since you have determined which works well, you can transfer that component to other components to build an Ajax based application.

This is very feasible when you are using libraries to develop an application. Through this tool, you will be able to determine which function will work well in your application. You can use and reuse different functions in different applications and easily optimize them because of Census 2.

The results in Census 2 comes in graph form so that you will have a comparative study on the performance of certain functions. Best of all, the application comes as an open source so you don't have to shell a single cent in order to achieve in building highly efficient Ajax based application.
