Since Ajax has become the focus of today’s web and application development. A lot of tools have been developed to cater to this programming technique. Although it has been dubbed to be a very challenging technique to master, it all goes down to three languages to build an efficient Ajax website: JavaScript, HTML and XML.

Some have preferred to use JSON instead of XML but an efficient mark-up language is all that Ajax needs to perform well. The efficiency it brings is almost second to none and the interface an Ajax application could do is beyond par.

If you are a developer who already has an advanced idea on JavaScript, building an Ajax based application could be very easy. But it does spell trouble when a developer who is proficient in other languages. Other frameworks and functions based on other languages will never be used in an Ajax based application as it is.

Technically, it could be integrated in any Ajax based website but the website or the application will not look good. An ideal Ajax based application could refresh parts of the webpage – and only those that have been changed will be activated. Other languages could be integrated but they will just look bad in the website.

The concern of using other frameworks and languages is answered through a simple yet very efficient framework called SAJAX. Obviously, SAJAX is a little bit of spin-off from Ajax, which is actually good.

Basically, SAJAX uses PHP along with current Ajax based languages to develop an application that will not only use JavaScript but also with a string of languages.

Using SAJAX, the following functions: ASP, Python, Perl, Lua, ColdFusion and Ruby. Technically all of them cannot be used at the same time but considering the things it could do, SAJAX is a viable alternative to Ajax applications.

When SAJAX was launched it did not really had the recognition it should have. AHAX, the HTML version of Ajax, has been gaining momentum and popularity. Since every developer knows HTML, it is practically one of the easiest ways to develop an Ajax based application.

It is a very smart technique and not that difficult compared to SAJAX. On the other hand, SAJAX promises efficiency and even more with the use of other functions. PHP becomes the gateway for developing the Ajax based application.

Although SAJAX is already efficient as it is, another form of SAJAX was developed considered an upgraded form of SAJAX. Called Project Orange, this set of functions could deliver more using the same tools mentioned earlier.

SAJAX and Project Orange are open-source frameworks so both of these could be used at will and for free. Project Orange has been updated so that it will look even better. If you visit their website, you will notice that the application has been developed with the help of photographers and graphic artists so this upgrade is not only in performance but also with their graphics.

If you are looking for a framework for different languages for Ajax, look for SAJAX and Project Orange. Although a little bit unknown, it will definitely help any developer built an efficient Ajax based application.
