Two New Updates Of Dojo

Dojo is one of the best open-source Ajax toolkits. Created by the Dojo foundation, the collaboration of great minds in the Ajax world has come up with this toolkit that will basically be used by programmers who wanted to get the best out of Ajax. The name is not really familiar with regular users but behind every great interactive website, the magic of Dojo is sprinkled in one part of the program. Since it’s an open source, it’s freely used and everyone seemed to create their own version to be implemented in their website or online program. As this is an open source project, updates are made available not only by the creators of the program but also but also by its devoted users. Everyone wants to share something in this foundation and the updates really showed what they can do. The update is not about the critical flaw but it’s about enhancing the ability of Dojo. The first update is for Drupal based projects. Drupal is a content management system that can work in various platforms. It uses PHP for better interaction between the client and users at the same time. The update in Drupal enables the users to add a JavaScript library. The combination of PHP and JavaScript could create one powerful program. PHP will get the streaming done while JavaScript library should be able to accept streaming information faster. As Dojo also features Ajax functionality, the JavaScript library will be part of the greater function since Ajax will add more interactivity for the users. The next update deals with upcoming version of Dojo 1.0. Right now Dojo is in version 0.9 with functionality that can be updated freely by the users. Even though Dojo 1.0 will be as complete as it is, it will still accept updates from different users. In fact, even before the 1.0 program is implemented, an update is already available and ready to be implemented. This update will be about the image gallery. Once the 1.0 will be able to be implemented, users of Dojo will be able to access even a better library of commands for the images. You might have seen the omg.yahoo.com feature where you can just click on the photo and it will scroll either to the right or to the left. That’s a perfect example of what you can do online with an update image gallery. But instead of settling for the slideshow, there are also options where you can choose to add thumbnails and thumb picker. It’s basically a widget that will be able to get the picture gallery going using the Dojo Toolkit. These two Dojo updates is just a small speck of Dojo. However, there are so many updates that we still do not know of. Most of the time, developers just keep a new update for himself or herself but we all know that as an open-source, there are more things coming. The Dojo foundation will just keep on getting bigger and better all the time.
