When ASP.NET 3.5 was released with Ajax, developers even got more excited as the ASP.NET is now a player in the almost untapped marketplace of framework during that time. Although some saw it as a late update, ASP.NET is now used by various developers because of their Ajax support. The release of Ajax toolkits to work with ASP.NET makes the deal even sweeter.
Harnessing the power of ASP.NET is Infragistics. The company is one of the leaders in Presentation Layer Technology where they provide tools that can be used in their website. Different codes are created by the company so that clients will be able to assemble a user interface easier. These codes could also be reused and re-implemented in other websites. The result is a faster development of softwares by reducing the need to code from scratch. Since the release of Ajax, Infragistics worked to update their tools in tune of the latest update in Ajax.
When ASP.NET 3.5 was created to cater to the need of creating Ajax based websites, Infragistics has updated their tools so that customers will have better technology in their hands. The company has released NetAdvantage 2007 as an update to their growing list of services. NetAdvantage 2007 will now work with Ajax based toolkits. This will foster better interaction because of the update user interface. Developers will also have an easier task in upgrading their programs that uses ASP.NET framework since NetAdvantage 2007 already has tools that extensively exploits the Ajax functionality of ASP.NET.
The update in NetAdvantage 2007 will yield four new updates. First, a better web dialog window but could be controlled using the traditional window box. Second, image viewer control is now strip style. Third, there will now be a web splitter control to be used in Ajax based websites so that each panel will update independent of each other. Fourth, the web grid was also updated to cater to the newly updated Ajax functionality.
The update on the controls will certainly enable the developers to work more on Ajax based websites easily and the creation of the program faster. Instead of focusing on sporadic frameworks, Infragistics has focused on ASP.NET on this update. “Our original AJAX framework that we used for the Web components is now about seven years old. We've put our own proprietary library aside and built directly on top of Microsoft's, now that it's available,” said Andrew Flick, Infragistics product manager.
Infragistics is also hoping to appeal the control kit not only to a developer but to the whole development team as realized by one of the Infragistics clients, Gartner, Inc. “One of their long-term competitive offerings to the enterprise is not just to the individual developer; they try to differentiate themselves to the corporate dev team, which is creating code that's consistent across components. You get shared code, which then gives you shared functionality, which then gives you a smaller footprint for the components." Mark Driver, VP for Research of the said company released this statement.
