Zoho now in iPhone

Zoho.com is a popular web-based office productivity website that uses Ajax to launch various programs. These programs almost mimic your regular office productivity programs. You can create documents, excel-like programs and even web based presentations. They also offer web conferencing tools and other business productivity suites. They also offer database management and even offer add-ons for your MS Office.

There are also widgets and APIs that you can manipulate so that it will be integrated to your program or in your website. All these programs use Ajax and public reaction is positive. These programs are really efficient in developing your own program and launch them online so that others who use Zoho may be able to update the file.

Google also offers these types of programs but in terms of office productivity, Zoho comes way ahead of Google. On the other hand, Ajax is also making waves in the mobile industry particularly in iPhone. Even though Apple (the creators of iPhone) released a statement that it will only allow web based programs to run in their phones, for some developers it’s just a phase where the stage is set for development.

Zoho also saw it that way. Using their knowledge of their online expertise for Ajax and online office productivity tools, Zoho launched a program called iZoho. From the looks of its name, the program is set to be primarily used for iPhone. It uses the same Ajax technology which makes the programs launched in iZoho almost the same as their online counterpart. But iZoho will not have all the programs that are also offered in their regular programs.

iZoho will only feature three programs for now: Zoho writer, which is almost the same as MS Office; Zoho Sheets the reflects Excel and Zoho presentations for web based presentations and it works just like the Microsoft’s PowerPoint. Even though it’s limited to three programs, the programs that were launched are the most important and the frequently used programs in Zoho. Because of that, iZoho is going to be one popular web-based program in iPhone.

It could also be possible that iZoho will be launched in other mobile phones. However, those that have other phones should wait a little bit more. iZoho was specifically made for iPhones for now. There were also complaints that it’s not as extensive as the online version but that should be expected. iZoho sign up may also experience bugs but you can fix this by signing up in their online version.

iZoho for now is limited in entering text but not in editing other works. For me, as long as I can create documents and send them to my e-mail or download them, it will work just like fine. Zoho is not the only Ajax-based software that features office productivity. Soon we’ll be able to have a choice which one should we use. It could be from simple web developers or as big as Google. Combining technology and mobility has never been better with iZoho and iPhone coming together.
