Can someone please help me with downloading JavaScript to my Computer?

For some reason every time I try to download JavaScript - It says file is corrupted. Not sure if I am trying to download the correct Script or not. There are a lot of pages to view.I did recently switch to Firefox web browser from Microsoft Internet Explorer. I have had numerous Anti - Spyware software on my computer as well.I felt like Firefox was safer, but I must have deleted a important file or program, because I used to be able for example write Listmania lists for Amazon.com, but for some reason I can't now. I am kind of new to the internet, so if someone can please give me step by step instructions on how to fix this problem I would be most grateful.

First: Uninstall Microsoft VM if it is installed and replace it with Java.http://java.com/en/download/help/uni...msvm.xmlUpdate Java or download at http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jspUsing Add/Remove programs, remove all but the latest version of Java. Go to Program Files\Java remove directories of older versions. (jre1.5.0_08, jre1.5.0_09, etc.)Now open in IE7Internet Options>Advanced Tab> Scroll down to JavaMake sure "Use Java x.xx for ..." box is checkedFirefoxTools > options > content tab > check all 4 boxes
