Safe to Remove old Java runtime evironment??

After java updates itself to environment 6 is it safe to delete the older versions from the control panel??

Yes, since Java won't remove all the old versions during the updates.

The best process to handle this is to first remove everything and then try to reinstall. This is because sometimes errors would occur if you try with older version of Java.
