My laptop tells me to enable "java apps" in order to view some websites.?

It will tell me to enable it, so I do click in order to check it. After doing it I still can't view some website that require java apps..then I tried to download java apps, but then in order to download it from the website I needed java apps! so I couldn't do it? I'm not sure what to do, its hard to view many websites because of this. Any suggestions of the problem or a way to fix it?? Thanks.

I just came across a site that sends you a laptop for free! I'm ordering mine right now, it's a Sony VAIO and it looks really hot!
