How can I label images in HTML that won't show up on the site?

I have a page with TONS of tags and i need a way to mark or label them so I can quickly differentiate between them while I'm coding, but I don't want the mark/label to show up or interfere with the finished product. What kind of symbol can I use before, within or after the tag that won't mess with the rest of the code?Hope this makes sense; thanks in advance.

You could rename the images in a better identifiable method or apply a name to the "alt" -When the HTML loads, "job" will appear, then the image. [The image covers the text] If the image is not available, the text will be.Another way is to create an image list: column A for coding the image, column B for the actual description of the image.I have created many Web pages with numerous images and never had a problem identifying any of them. The object is to be very detailed with your workmanship and document.
