Question about XML Schema (XML experts please help)?

Inside an .xsd schema file, there is a complexType like this (not written by me, copied from http://schemas.stylusstudio.com/olac...Literal.html): Text is allowed because mixed="true", but sub-elements are disallowed because minOccurs="0" and maxOccurs="0" are on the xs:any tag. This complexType allows for restriction or extension permitting child elements.The text inside the element says that sub-elements are disallowed becasuse minOccurs="0" and maxOccurs="0" are on the xs:any tag. This seems quite strange to me, because if it doesn't want to allow any sub-elements in this type, what is the point of setting the mixed attribute to true and what is the point of using a complexType and complexContent?Thank you.
