LCDs give much better geometry compared to a CRT. They take up a lot less desk space. CRTs are normally as deep as they are wide. LCDs are brighter and, at the native resolution, are crisper than a CRT.CRTs produce better colour reproduction and better gray scale reproduction than most LCDs (The best LCDs have a TCO'03 cerification.) CRTs can produce a true black, all LCDs have some light produced at a 'black' input. CRTs deal better with multiple resolutions, if for some reason your applications want to swap resolution.Unless you are really hyper about colour reproduction, and are using a spyder (or some equivalent) to calibrate the colour daily, then I would go with a quality LCD monitor.

Well if you go with a CRT your not going to be able to get widescreen; however your going to get higher resolutions for cheaper, and accurate color display. If you get an LCD I would recommend that you keep a CRT around to do color correction.I just bought an LCD to replace my duel 19"CRTs, but I unfortunately still need one of the CRTs for color correctionIf you're doing lots of graphic work I recommend the following CRT and LCD displays.CRThttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001223
