How do I edit an XML file???

Ok, so I have an existing XML file for an image gallery. When each picture shows up, there is a way you can click in the middle of the picture and it goes to a new site. I want to REMOVE this part, but when I try to remove the url part of the code, it affects the look of the gallery. Here's the XML code:

<txt>Me at age 8</txt>

<thumb>thumb8.jpg</thumb>
<copy>This is me.</copy>

I have tried so many things. Like I said, I tried to just take out from < url> to </ url> and it affected how the gallery looked and the background color changed too..

simplest editior can be notepad.

but if you want an advanced editior....then go for Jcreater lite version which is freeware and can be used to edit a lots od files alike java files,c/c++,html,XML,etc....it is the best ide for java too...
