Sitemap.xml?
Right now I have all of the pages of my Web site on my sitemap, but I was wondering, should I include an external site that mine links to, but I also manage, on my sitemap? And what about documents and things on my server? do they need to be included in a sitemap?
Thanks, I wasn't for sure what I needed on my sitemap (Kindof new to the world of web publishing )

Nope, the sitemap should only contain all of the links to the pages on your site.
