The OpenAjax Alliance revealed new standards and open source initiatives for secure mashups, AJAX on mobile devices, and a unified browser wish-list from AJAX toolkit suppliers. AJAX is the technology behind most Web 2.0 applications, including the increasingly popular 'mashup,' a website or application that combines content from more than one source into an integrated experience, and Web 'gadgets,' which can be placed into Web pages and social network sites.
