Creating the XMLHTTPRequest

I have an app in which I make about 10 Ajax calls. In terms of best practices is it better to create the request instance once and use it for all my calls, or is it better to create a request for each call?

I guess this must have been a stupid question since no one's responded. IMHO it's better to have a single instance of the request that services multiple calls, but I could be wrong.
