I reinstalled windows 2000, now my PC does not see the modem in the system portion...

The tech folks from my DSL provider mentioned my NIC. Is it possible to loose it by installing windows 2000?...

I reinstalled windows 2000, now my PC does not see the modem in the system portion...

you need to install the software drivers that run the NIC. Windows 2000 did not install them by default.

Win 2k is not as "plug & play" friendly as 95 or XP. Go to the manufacturers site and download the correct drivers for your modem, NIC, Printer or whatever else you may have installed.
