jQuery User Interface

Category: JavaScript   |   Comments (0)

jQuery has practically become one of the most powerful JavaScript libraries. Even before JQuery has been adopted by Microsoft as its main library for JavaScript, it has already been adopted by developers worldwide. It’s simplified library, variety of options for developers and massive support from users worldwide has pushed jQuery to leaps and bounds that only a few JavaScript library could match.

Just recently, the said library updated their user interface (UI) which is a massive upgrade. New tools and notable features have been added to the new version which will upgrade the performance of an Ajax based application.

Working with Version 1.3

The best feature of v1.7 is the ability of the UI to work with v1.3. The JavaScript library has been upgraded for a few times but aside from v1.7, v1.3 is considered to be a massive update that has left other updates incompatible. Basically the UI versions before v1.3 cannot work with v1.3. This may seem too harsh but that update has practically placed jQuery into a very favorable position in terms of compatibility not only with the future versions with more features but also on browsers and other libraries.

Optimized Plug-ins

An update in UI may never be complete without any update of their plug-ins. Although their plug-ins have some very impressive in its previous versions, more features could be added for better performance. This update hopes to answer all those questions regarding the plug-ins jQuery has to offer.

An impressive feature of the current version of jQuery UI for plug-in is the ability to work seamlessly with HTML. With this update, developers will increase the interaction of their application while minimizing the required storage and processing power of the application. Although there might be some restrictions when it comes to HTML implementation, the trade-off is worth it.

CSS for Ajax

Another impressive update for jQuery UI is the total revision of its CSS framework. With this update, developers will not only experience the full power of CSS on the plug-ins but also with other libraries as well.

The CSS compatibility with Ajax will also improve significantly as the functions related to CSS concerning Ajax will be hosted by Google. Additional themes are also available with the update which is still hosted by Google. Although tapping Google is an odd move, it does help in increasing the processing power of jQuery plug-ins and CSS.

ThemeRoller Updated and New Themes

Aside from an increased number of themes for plug-ins hosted by Google, jQuery UI v1.7 has also updated ThemeRoller. Now on v2, ThemeRoller will greatly complement CSS in terms of streaming data to the client side. There are also bundled themes available for download which offers more options on the themes for developers.

Developers of jQuery have certainly paused developers on what they need to do with their present UI. The previous updates are only minimal but in this case, they have sought more functions to be added in jQuery which will push for a better JavaScript and Ajax based applications.
