Logahead - A Fully Buzzword Compliant Blogging Engine
Lots of comments have been flying around about a new completely “from the ground up” implementation of a blog that’s, as they put it, “fully buzzword compliant (AJAX, RSS, Web 2.0 - it’s all there)”.
The Logahead blogging engine offers many of the regular features that blogging software provides, but has been reworked to make it simpler - ease-of-use is key. To achieve this level of simplicity, the entire blog can be maintained directly from the homepage, logins/protected content and all. They support tagging for each entry, draggable/sortable widgets for the sidebar, an “admin toolbar” that loads when an authorized user logs in, inline post adding and editing, livesearch, RSS feeds, easy text formating, and much more.
Most importantly, you can check out a demo of the app here.
You can get all of the deatils on the software at their site, including support and a forum to interact with other Logahead users. Currently, the download is a beta version (version 1.0), and requires PHP and MySQL to get up and running.

You lost me at php :P
I really like this a lot. Good start and really creative: this 17-year old has something in store for his career!
A really neat idea and looks functional on the outside. The code, however, seems to be doing some unsecure things…storing username/password in a cookie and using that for admin verification.
Currently it lacks security, templates and database abstraction. For now I’ll wait and watch. Its a good start, but it needs a bit of work. I don’t think its ready for its Beta 1.0 yet.
I would love this more as a plugin for WP — why reinvent the whole blog engine when you could just improve the user experience?
This is a nice bit of work - but as others have mentioned - it’s mostly candy on top of a base that needs some work.
Creating a blogging engine as robust as WP (or several others) is a lot of work… I’d also encourage this guy to take his (very good) work and turn it into a plug-in. It would be VERY popular if fully flushed out….
For a 17yr old - I’d say this is a damn good start. Hope he keeps up the work on it, could turn into something very promising.
Hell, its better then something I could do I think, and I’m in 3rd year Univ and have held a few cushy programming jobs to help pay for my education :)
Well, for the demo they shamelessly stolen the Wordpress standard theme, without even mentioning..

I guess MODx and Logahead is a next generation blog engines, not as blog even, but publicity engines.
Keep developing, who knows this might play a big part in the future of blgging.
keep up the great work
I love this wp plugin too.
Interesting article. Thanks.
